Scary Stuff

For those of you who didn't know, Sam was in the hospital this week from Tuesday til this morning (Friday). He came down with a temperature on Monday and then right before we were leaving for our doctor's appointment on Tuesday, it spiked to 105.9. Scary stuff. When we got to the doctor's office, she admitted him because of the high fever which can cause seizures and a racing heart.

They did all kinds of tests and it was all really inconclusive. Then underneath his eyes started to get puffy, then bruised looking and they started testing for really scary things. But that also turned up negative. Thank God! And finally, after all the tests came back negative, they ruled it a superbad supernasty virus rather than any other kind of infection.

His temp is still not completely stable, but is much better. And he's home now, and sleeping in his own jammies in his own bed. And he had a bath. And played with toys. And demanded crackers. So, it's looking up.
