sam: mom, can we get a toy?
me: not today.
sam: mom, can we look at toys?
me: no baby. no toys today.
sam: mom, i want to look at toys.
me: no.



sam: mama?
me: yes?
sam: can we get a car?
me: no. no toys. we're just here for a water bottle and diapers.


sam: mama. i want to look at something beautiful.
me: what?
sam: something beautiful.

me: and what beautiful thing would you like to look at?
sam: cars! CARS!!

me: oh sam. you won me over. let's go look at something beautiful.
