Sam has turned anti-reading. Well, that is an exaggeration. He still loves to be read to. But he does not want to read to himself. I know that the best course of action is to disengage, be totally blase, not pressure him in anyway and let him come back to books if he chooses to and just read to him, as he wishes me to do. But I am not a patient woman. And I am sort of heartbroken over his attitude towards reading to himself. Because reading is SO AWESOME!
In other news, Sam lost a second tooth. It was very wiggly but he refused to let anyone near it to pull it. So one day, while at Centennial Beach, he was flipping around in the water, and when he came up for air, it was missing. He couldn't find the tooth, so he left the tooth fairy a note telling her it was at the beach and he lost it by the slides and he hoped she could find it. Thankfully, the tooth fairy still came.
Henry is doing well. Every time I look at him, he looks like 6 months older to me. It's like time is moving at warp speed. He is vigilant in his desire to make mischief. Yesterday, while I wasn't looking, he drizzled the maple syrup from his plate all over the floor around the table. He likes to do this thing where he says I'm going to snap you. And then, before you can even say "what does that mean?" he buries his head into the most inappropriate place on your body and begins to wiggle his whole body around as if having a seizure and blow raspberries at you. Yesterday, while we were doing a movie night and watching Goonies, he got hold of my water bottle and dumped about 16 ounces of ice water on himself and on me simultaneously. The boy keeps me on my toes, is what I'm saying.
Hope you are all well!
