Hi all. Hope everyone is doing well.
Here's a little sneak into what's been up with each of my boys.
Sam was selected to read a poem at his Veteran's Day Assembly this week. I had class that day and Craig had work, so neither of us were able to see it. But he said it went really well. He mentioned that he was like 6 inches away from the veterans and that that part was really nerve-wracking and thrilling. He read it into the microphone and didn't make mistakes. He said everyone cheered and one person went WHOOOOHOOOOOO! And then when he got back to his class, they all clapped for him and did a cheer for him, which I thought was really nice. He had his book fair this week too and picked out a cool book about anatomy -- as told through the eyes of zombies. He also used some of his own money to buy Henry a little toy at the fair which I though was particularly kind of him and Henry loves his new toy (a pointer shaped like skeleton hand that glows in the dark.)
Henry is starting to get more interested in letters and numbers. He calls out all the numbers he sees on our drives and is good at recognizing them. He is still working on his letters, but he's getting better. Henry is a cuddlebug and there is no limit to the amount of snuggles and hugs he wants. But his favorite is having his back rubbed. He would sit there for hours letting someone do it if they could.
Gus is having some wonky sleep issues. He was sleeping through the night and napping well and now it's a bit more unpredictable. I'm not sure if the solid food is causing it or teething or just a learned behavior but we're trying to get him back into some good sleep habits. He's sampled bananas, pears, rice and oatmeal and today we'll try our first veggie (probably a safe bet like sweet potatoes.) He seems to like his exersaucer best as far as toys go. He only ever eats books when we try to read to him, so that has been unsuccessful so far. I can't pry it out of his hands and mouth to turn a page. So he likes books. To gnaw on.
Hope you all are well. Love
G
