Weekend Plans

We have a fun weekend planned with the kiddos.  Tonight, Sam is having a friend over after school.  There has been much discussion between Sam and Henry about whether or not Henry will be included in the festivities.  Sam says "If he wants to play with you too, then ok.  But if he doesn't, then no."  And Henry says "What if he only wants to play with me and not you, Sam?"  Sam seems horrified by that scenario and won't even answer that.  Anyway, I'm sure it will all go well and everyone will be included and no one will be left out and no one will feel that their special time is being eaten away by a pesky brother.  I think it's nice that Sam is mostly inclusive of his younger brother when a friend comes over.  

He will have full advantage for payback tomorrow because Henry's friend, Jack (well, really his friend's parents) have invited all of us up to their lakeside shack for an evening.  Henry and Jack are tight and play together at recess every day and Henry will be on his soccer team this year.  Sam and Jack get along swimmingly too.  Jack looks up to Sam quite a bit, so Henry honestly has a bigger chance of feeling left out with his own friend.  Anyway, we're heading there Saturday to ride in the boat, go tubing, eat smores and various other delicious things, sit around the campfire and hopefully just have a good old fashioned summer night with some new friends. 

Gus has no clue any of this is happening, so I doubt there is any chance of him feeling left out.
