So, here's the skinny since we last spoke.
We had both of the kids parent teacher conferences at school. They were both edifying. One teacher spoke almost exclusively about the scholarly aspects and the other about the behavioral aspects of our children. Both teachers indicated that they thought our boys were really neat kids and they both confessed to having soft spots for them.
We also had a lot of fun watching the Royals play in the World Series. It has really sparked Sam's interest in baseball and he is eager to play this summer. Craig flew to KC one weekend and surprised his family and friends to watch a couple of the games.
We had a lot of fun with Halloween this year. As usual, we had some fun carving our pumpkin. We went for a vampire this year. And I FINALLY, after many years, convinced the kids to just reach in with their hands and grab a big old handful of pumpkin guts.
Henry went as an evil jester. Sam went as Harry Potter. Gus dressed up as a dragon but didn't go out trick or treating with his older brothers because the weather was absolutely terrible. He stayed with me and helped hand out candy and in between trick or treaters convinced me to feed him a steady stream of smarties.
Considering how terrible the weather was, the boys pulled in a pretty good haul, didn't they?
In non-Halloween news, we are very much enjoying the consistent supply of leaves on the ground.
And finally, over the boys Fall break this past Monday, we got a little more use out of our Field Museum membership. Henry was really into the meteorite in the picture below. He really wanted his picture taken with it.
Here is a picture of Sam doing some tribal sand drawings. We spent a long time doing these. It was really cool.
Underground adventure with our friends Jacob and Tyler. Climbing in bug exoskeletons with glowing eyes. Nice.
Gus got his groove on in the drum room.
And then everyone melted down from exhaustion and we went home. It's been a fun few weeks.
We love you. Mwah.
