Yesterday Sam and I went to the beach. He played in the lake for the first time, and loved it. Then I stupidly set him down in the sand. The dripping wet baby delightedly covered every inch of his body in sand. Then, when there was nowhere else to put the sand, opted for his mouth. Then it started raining and we left.
This morning, before his nap, I read him a book. It had all kinds of photos in it of different objects, and I asked him, "Sam, where is the banana." And just as sweet as you please, he pointed right at it. He is BRILLIANT, I tell you. BRILLIANT. I was so excited.
Then, after weeks of trying to do a full on sit up while I am changing his diaper, but never being quite able to make it, he finally accomplished the feat. And now will not lie down while I try to change him. He was really pleased with himself over this.
And finally, on our way home from playgroup, we were listening to a kids CD. At the light, I turned around to see him clapping his little hands to the music and kicking his legs.
I swear, this kid is awesome.
