currents: henry

current books: I feel it would be honest to suggest that Henry has a favorite current book. I have the impulse to pretend he's taken with one book in particular, because I adore books so much. But Henry does not adore books so much. He likes them ok. Sometimes. When I point things out in books and name them, he listens for like 10 seconds and then he starts jabbing at the book randomly with his finger, because he wants to point too.

current album: I think he's still on the playlist that I use for working out. Anytime the Black Eyed Peas come on with Let's Get it Started, that baby grins and busts a move. He loves to dance. And if there is a good beat in the room, he's dancing. It's one of my favorite things about him.

current film: Sid the Science Kid. Oh Lord. That boy loves Sid almost as much as his brother. Maybe more. He says Sid all the time. Anytime he hears the credits, he starts shaking with anticipation and shouts SEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. (as in Sid) and then runs to stand in front of the tv and dance. It's pretty cute, as I'm sure you can imagine.

current shame-inducing guilty pleasure: I was really worried about how he would be around the tree. He is inexplicably not interested at all. However, we have a Christmas Village. It's more like a Christmas Rural Neighborhood. But Henry adores it and spends a lot of time standing in front of it. He knows he's not supposed to touch it and for the most part, he doesn't. But every once in awhile, after gazing at it for minutes at a time, he can't resist and starts moving the pieces around. I think he has beheaded at least 6 different people so far. Alas.

current color: His coat is royal blue. And though I think he could care less about that, it makes his eyes look lovely.

current links: NONE! The computer is basically the only thing in our home that Henry does not want to destroy.

current fetish: The pacifier, for sure. Henry is like a bat with sonar for pacifiers. He finds them all over the house and sometimes will remove the pacifier in his mouth just to try out the new one he found shoved into a couch cushion. If we forget to unclip a pacifier from his shirt, he will take it out to put food in his mouth and then immediately shove the pacifier back into his mouth, while chewing. And he has been known to drink his bottle and slyly shove the pacifier into the side of his mouth while sucking down his milk. Henry has mad love for the pacifier.

current outfit: Right now, he is wearing his blue pajamas with brightly colored polka dots on them. And his pacifier clip.

current fragrance: Henry always smells like lavender baby shampoo to me.

current drink: Milk. Though he's started asking for apple juice, and it's quite cute to hear him.

current wish list: to have unlimited access to the Christmas Village, a cd of Sid the Science Kid music, for me to never leave the house, a permanent pacifier, to be able to get on the couch all by himself

current triumph: his speech is definitely taking off. He loves to bring interesting things to anyone who will look at them and shout "I SEE" over and over until you say "YES. I SEE IT." He is very good at mimicking the words we use and you can tell it makes him feel good to find new words.

current bane of his existence: When I won't let him walk to the car himself, but insist on carrying him. Oooh, that makes him SO mad.

current celebrity crush: me? still. the other night, when I had to go to rehearsal, he got so upset. He tried to take my shoes away from me when I was putting them on. Then, when he realized he couldn't get them from me, he ran to his room and got HIS shoes and brought them in and said I SEE until I said, yes, i see your shoes. And then he said BUH BYE. it completely broke my heart. oof.

current indulgence: Sam and Henry ate an entire box of Cocoa Puffs in like 2 days. They might have had a little bit of help from their mama.

current excitement: when I come home from rehearsal or errands or pick him up from the gym. So thrilled and excited. He also gets VERY eager for breakfast in the morning. He likes breakfast as much as his brother, I think.

current mood: silly, happy, goofy, and sometimes totally enraged. but in a cute way.
