Current books: He still gravitates towards his comic books and his Star Wars Books. He's a big fan of all the Gerald and Piggy books, loves anything by Mo Willems. He recently discovered that the library has a whole side of non-fiction books and promptly fell in love. He's also sort of famously prolific at school in his writers workshop and churns out so many books that his teacher has had to refuse to edit some of them, lest he take over the entire publishing house.
Current film: Monster Jam rallies, Ninjago, Planet Earth dvds.
Current shame-inducing guilty pleasure: Talking in goofy voices that no one but him can understand, randomly saying "Supreme Court Stuff" (it makes about as much sense written out as it does when he says it. We don't know where it came from or why he insists on saying it, but it seems to be here to stay), being notoriously hard to get out of the door for school, having really long really dirty fingernails no matter how much I clip them (I think he has extra fingernail cells or something), playing too much Fruit Ninjas, Angry Birds, and Leapster Explorer.
Current color: Holding steady with the green. It's been green for a while and his opinion is not changing.

Current fetish: Sometimes I catch him sucking on his big toe. I used to do this in the bathtub when I was little. Why are we so gross?
Current songs: The Metal by Tenacious D. (One of their only not filthy songs)
Current outfit: A red t-shirt with a skateboard on it, blue sweatpants, white socks, and his tennies.
Current fragrance: This afternoon it will be the smell of our overly-chlorinated YMCA pool and my shampoos and soaps.
Current drink: Chocolate milk. I wonder if he'll ever not be into chocolate milk.
Current wish list: To not have to do more than two day in the TV turnoff/no screens week, for Friday to be here instantaneously so he can leave for his trip to Disney World with Grandma Jane and PawPaw, to get to go to Jedi Training camp at Disney World, to get to wear his new swimming trunks as soon as humanly possible, to get the last three stones in his jar (it's this thing we're doing where he gets stones for good behavior and gets them taken away for bad. He has earned 97 stones and needs three more and then he gets to go pick out a yellow Angry Bird stuffed animal.)
Current triumph: Being able to count very high, being able to double knot tie his own shoes, making such wonderful strides on having better manners especially when it comes to gifts, growing taller and heavier, how well his sunflowers are growing -- we are ready to move them to a bigger pot and he's very concerned for their safety, learning a lot of information about geography and sharing it with others
Current bane of his existence: Having any sort of limits on his screen time, but that's about it. Which is... sort of... amazing!
Current crush: He was pretty taken with this little two year old that was at my parents house this weekend. He was playing with her so nicely and entertaining her and sharing with her and giving her hugs and snuggles.
Current indulgence: Whenever he has fruit snacks, he stuffs the whole pack into his mouth at once and then sucks on them for like an hour.
Current excitement: How can a five year old boy think of anything else when Disney World is a mere 4 days away!!
Current mood: goofy, talkative, inquisitive, energetic, serious, intense, eager, proud, loving, and a wee bit obsessive.
