8 Months

The time has come (and gone) for the post about how Gus has turned 8 months old.  He's growing leaps and bounds these past few weeks.  He is sitting up unassisted pretty well, though he still flops over quite a bit.  He rolls himself toward trouble the moment he is set down -- he pulls books off shelves and rips them apart, he rolls toward every outlet and wire he sees in an attempt to chew and suck on them.  He senses danger, and he wants it, so he rolls as quick as he can towards it.  Should be interesting once he starts crawling.

He loves to play patty cake.  He LOVES to eat food and he sort of holds jazz hands up the whole time he eats and pants and wiggles them to and fro as if to say OH MY GOSH I AM EATING FOOD AGAIN THIS IS SO WONDERFUL YAAAAAAY!    It's his most defining feature at the moment and everyone is disturbed by it and delighted by it.  They are deturbed.  His favorite things are bananas and all the pureed meats.  So gross, in my opinion, but the boy wigs out for some pureed chicken.

He loves to have his belly tickled and get raspberries and bounce on the bed.  Always guaranteed to get laughs that way.

He is a smily, happy little baby and I am loving that I get to be his mom.
