Quick Update

Let's see what's been going on with each of the kiddos.

Sam finished up his second quarter at school and got excellent grades.  He finished up his Pinewood Derby Car with his dad and the official race will happen on Friday night.  The car is called The Undead and features a skull and crossbones on top and a couple long bones on each side (My guess is that they are fibulas.  I'm showing off some of my A&P skills, yo.)  He and I are loving reading Harry Potter together and he is VERY into football.  He recently wrote a poem about himself for school and one of the lines was "I feel awesome about the NFL."  His go to adjective on schoolwork is awesome. But in this case, it was true.  He DOES feel awesome about the NFL.

Henry had a field trip at school today to the local grocery store and he was delighted to have seen the stock room and to receive an orange as a gift.  His chapped lips are a constant battle.  His tongue is like a little windmill spinning round and round his lips.  He looks like he drank a big cup of cherry koolaid.  I recently went out and purchased 4 chapsticks to add to our arsenal of lip balms and placed them in strategic locations so that we can never be without.  It's helping.  He continues to say shocking bizarre things that amaze me.  Yesterday's doozy was "Mom, I'm going to pump milk out of your nipple and put them into my nipples and then I will be a grown up." Which... um...... ?!? .... yeah.

Gus is sick again.  He has another cold and he seems to feel that this particular cold will best be fought by vigilant awakeness.  So he is currently screeching his way through a nap time and kept Craig and I awake for about 3 hours last night.  In other news, his jumperoo seems to act as a laxative.  It is a surefire bet that after a round of jumping, he will need a diaper change.  He is on thin ice with me at the moment with all this wakefulness.  Instead of 1000 kisses today, he's only getting 999.
