So yesterday, we had our first visit to the allergist to try to figure out what it might be. He had skin tests first and that was not his favorite thing. They gave us a stuffed spider, a big plastic dog head, and a egg timer shaped like a chicken. So of course, we played a pretend game with them to distract him wherein the chicken taught the spider how to dance and then they swam in the dogs head and played Marco Polo. I mean, obviously.
And then we got the results that he is allergic to cats, mold, and trees.
And they gave us a lot of things we can do to help him combat those particular allergies and possibly avoid a spring, summer and fall of uncomfortable drippy noses and allergic shiners.
But it did not explain the angioedema (severe lip swelling) from a few weeks ago, which is a huge concern for me. So he has to go get a blood test. And we'll see what other allergies are lurking around in there.
